Sound parameters
The sound parameters describe the characteristics of our melody, through observation and analysis:
- the Resulting interval (iR): is the distance (iS) between the initial and final Note of our sequence.
- the range (rg): is the vertical distance between the lowest and the highest note in our sequence.
- the quantity of Notes (ca N): is the total number of Notes in our succession.
- the differentiated quantity of Notes (ca df N): is the number of different Notes in our succession.
- the quantity of sound intervals (ca iS): is the total number of iS of our succession. The initial iS is not counted, so it will always be equal to the amount of N – 1.
- the differentiated quantity of Sound intervals (ca df iS): it is the quantity of different iS of our sequence. The iS of the same numerical value but with different sign are counted as one and the same iS. The initial iS is also not accounted for.
